Electronic musician Josh Legg, also known as Goldroom, is from the United States. Legg attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles to study psychology after growing up in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Although the former went on pause in 2011, he and classmate Kyle Peterson co-founded the record company Binary Entertainment and the synthpop band NightWaves. Anoraak, Bag Raiders, College, Futurecop!, Miami Horror, and The Twelves are just a few of the artists with whom Binary has collaborated since its founding in 2007. In 2011, Legg started making music under the alias Goldroom, remixing songs like "Mother Protect" by Niki and the Dove. His stage moniker is derived from the name of a tavern in Los Angeles' Echo Park neighborhood. The same year, he published his debut EP, "Angeles," and the next year, "Embrace." For Embrace, Goldroom hired vocalists such as Chela, Ariela Jacobs, Mereki, and Say Lou Lou despite the fact that he had already done the vocals on all of the Angeles tracks (he also sang harmonies and backup vocals in NightWaves). The track "Till Sunrise" by Goldroom was released in 2014, and actress Dianna Agron directed the music video. Through Downtown Records, he released the EP It's Like You Never Went Away in 2015. Each song's music video debuted with the EP's release on the video messaging platform Snapchat. George Maple, the song's co-writer, appears on the recently released version of "Embrace" on It's Like You Never Went Away. Alan Braxe, Daft Punk, Bob Dylan, Fred Falke, Al Green, LCD Soundsystem, Nirvana, and Tom Petty are some of Goldroom's musical influences.
