Moon Duo is a psychedelic rock band hailing from San Francisco, California, and was established in 2009 by Sanae Yamada and Ripley Johnson, guitarist for the band Wooden Shjips. In 2011, Sacred Bones Records distributed "Mazes," the band's self-titled debut studio album. The band's sound, which incorporates repeated rhythms and saturated guitars, is influenced by psychedelic rock and takes its style in that direction.
