Delhi 2 Dublin (also known as D2D) consists of Sanjay on vocals, Tarun on table and electronics, Ravi on dhol, and Serena on the fiddle. D2D is a live-electronic, bhangra, hip-hop, world-pop, hybrid act, who play a fusion of electronic, funk, dub reggae, hip-hop, Celtic music and a mash up of other genres. D2D are from Vancouver and got their start on stage at the Vancouver Celtic Festival. They got their name from this festival because the event was named ‘Delhi to Dublin’ and they took it as theirs. Soon after, the audience loved them and they were playing in various venues, block parties, and festivals, all around Vancouver. Their first big show was the opening of Canada Day celebrations where the crowd was at around 150,000 people and was broadcasted live on nation television. As of now, D2D is still touring around Canada and have made their way to the United States and some places internationally. They released their first album, which was self-titled, and went number 3 in Canada’s world music charts. Years later, this album is still on iTunes top 100 in Canada. Since, D2D has released 4 more albums, all of which has had great success in Canada. Their most recent album, We’re All Desi, is inspired by their favorite Bollywood records and their love of bass music and feels like this album is their best offering so far.
