Theo Croker is a composer, producer, and trumpet player from Leesburg, Florida. Croker is the grandson of trumpeter Doc Cheatham and he went on to graduate from Oberlin College Conservatory. After graduating, Croker moved to Shanghai, China, to broaden his horizons on jazz music. While in Shanghai, Croker had a residency at the House of Blues and was also on the house band for “Asia Uncut Star Network” where he was the music director, bandleader and in-house composer. Around the same time, Croker met Dee Dee Bridgewater whom he performed with. Before leaving China, Croker also was a resident at Shanghai’s Peace Hotel Jazz Bar. Over the years Croker has released five albums and an EP. Some of his most popular songs include “Light Skinned Beauty”, “This Could Be”, “Realize”, and more. Croker has been a three-time Echo Award nominee, has earned a Theodore Presser Award and has most recently been nominated for a Grammy award in Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for his album Star People Nation..
