The group is from Auckland, New Zealand and Stokes and Pearce originally met in high school and later met Sinclair and previous member Ivan Luketina-Johnston while studying jazz at the University of Auckland. At the time, the group began performing jazz with Luketina-Johnston before forming The Beths. After forming The Beths, the group went on to release their first single, “Idea/Intent” through the website Soundcloud. After the single gained attention, The Beths went on to release singles such as “Whatever” and “Lying in the Sun” before independently releasing their debut EP, “Warm Blood”. Since then, The Beths have gone on to release their debut album, “Future Me Hates Me”. Some of their other popular songs include “Happy Unhappy”, “You Wouldn’t Like Me”, “Whatever”, and more.
