Leon Spinks, also known as “Neon”, is an American former professional boxer who has competed in cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. Spinks has previously won the undisputed heavyweight championship after defeating Muhammad Ali. Spinks was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and during his amateur career, Spinks was a three-time National AAU light heavyweight champion. Spinks represented the United States in the World Championships, which he earned a bronze medal in the light heavyweight division; represented the US in the Pan American Games which he took home silver in the light heavyweight division, and he also played in the Olympic Games which he earned a gold medal in the light heavyweight division. Spinks went on to make his professional debut against Bob Smith, which he won by knockout in five rounds. During his professional career, Sprinks competed in a total of 46 fights, won 26 of them, won 14 by KO, lost 17, and had 3 draws. Since retiring from boxing, Spinks has worked for Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling where he held the title of the FMW Brass Knuckles Heavyweight Championship.
