She has been CEO and Editor-in-Chief of My Kid Is Gay as well as Everyone Is Gay; both of which are organizations that educate, guide, and provide advice to LGBTQIA youth as well as their families. Russo and her former partner Dannielle Owens-Reid previously launched Everyone Is Gay on Tumblr as a means for advice to questions that LGBTQIA youth had asked them.
