Kristen Kish is a Korean-American chef who is best known for winning the 10th season of the competition television series “Top Chef”. Kish was born in Seoul, South Korea, and moved to the United States at four months old after being adopted by a family in Kentwood, Michigan. Kish had a love for cooking since a young age and went on to begin studying at Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago where she earned her A.A. in Culinary Arts. After graduating, Kish moved to Boston, where she began working as an instructor at Stir. She then was promoted to chef de cuisine by the owner, Barbara Lynch, before going on to work as chef de cuisine for Lynch’s other restaurant, Menton Boston. While working in Boston, Kish also worked at Chef Guy Martin’s Michelin-star restaurant, Sensing, and she later left working in Boston to travel the world and write a cookbook.
