Amna Nawaz is an American broadcast journalist, reporter and foreign correspondent who is best known for being a national correspondent and substitute anchor for PBS Newshour. Nawaz has earned her B.A. in politics, philosophy and economics from the University of Pennsylvania and has gone on to earn her Master’s in comparative politics from the London School of Economics. Nawaz originally wanted to pursue a career in law, but after graduating from college, she took a fellowship at ABC News, which led her to pursue a career in journalism. Nawaz began her career working with NBC where she worked on documentaries for Dateline NBC and was producer of Mortgage Crisis Investigations, which earned an Emmy Award nomination for Business and Financial Reporting.
