Harold Priestley Gill III, better known as Hal Gill, is a retired American professional ice hockey defenseman who played in the NHL winning the Stanley Cup once, with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Gill was born in Concord, Massachusetts, and he began playing football in high school where he was a notable quarterback. Gill went on to be drafted in the eighth round of the NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins but he spent four years playing for Providence before joining the NHL.
