Jelly Roll was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and was raised in the community of Antioch, Tennessee, which is known for being a rough area of Nashville. Growing up in Antioch, Jelly Roll found influence from local artists such as Pistol, Haystak and Kool Daddy Fresh.
