When Sock was 12 years old, he began training at the Mike Wolf Tennis Academy and went on to play tennis in high school where he finished in four consecutive state championships in singles and held a record of 80-0. During this time, Sock also played with his brother Eric, and together they won a state championship. During Sock’s junior career, he played his first ITF junior tournament at the Pan American Championships and went on to play at the US Open where he reached the semifinals.
