Benee is an up-and-coming pop singer-songwriter from Auckland, New Zealand. Benee has recently gained fame internationally after the release of his single “Supalonely,” which first gained traction through the social media application, TikTok, and has since gone on to have over 250 million streams. While growing up, Benee’s family members were all musically inclined and she grew up listening to a wide variety of music. When she was young, she began taking guitar and saxophone lessons before leaving music behind to focus on water polo. Benee later decided to turn back to music and began posting covers through the music sharing website SoundCloud. She later caught the attention of producer and musician Josh Fountain and together the two worked on releasing Benee’s debut single, “Tough Guy.” They then followed Tough Guy up with Benee’s breakthrough single, “Soaked,” which peaked at number 15 on the New Zealand charts and earned her RMNZ two-times platinum. Soaked also earned her the first entry on the Triple J Hottest 100. Benee went on to release her debut EP, “Fire on Marzz,” which peaked at number 13 on the New Zealand charts and earned her RMNZ certified platinum. Benee has also released her second EP, “Stella & Steve” which features the international hit single Supalonely. Some of Benee’s other popular singles include “Glitter,” and “Find an Island.”.
