Jeff Garcia is a former gridiron football quarterback. Garcia was born in Gilroy, California, and he began his career playing football as well as basketball in high school. He went on to play for Gavilan College before transferring and playing at San Jose State University. While at San Jose, Garcia earned UPI All-America honors and had the most career offensive yards in the history of the university. Garcia went on to be undrafted in the NFL draft and then began his career playing with the Canadian Football League with the Calgary Stampeders. During his years in the CFL, Garcia became a four-time West Division All-Star, a Grey Cup champion, a Grey Cup MVP, and won a Jeff Nicklin Memorial Trophy. After winning the Grey Cup, Garcia went on to begin playing in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers. Over the course of his career, Garcia played for several other teams including Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Omaha Nighthawks, and Houston Texans. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selected and is tied for the longest touchdown pass. He is also one of the only quarterbacks in history to have two consecutive thirty-touchdown passing seasons.
