Selema “Sal” Masekela is a journalist, commentator, host, and Emmy nominated producer who is best known for his work with networks such as NBC, Vice, E!, ESPN/ABC, and more. Masekela was born in Los Angeles, California, and he was raised in Staten Island, New York, and then Carlsbad, California. Masekela is the son of jazz musician Hugh Masekela and while growing up, music was a huge part of his life. Masekela began his career as an intern at Transworld Publications and he then was an NBA sideline reporter for ESPN. This led to him being the co-host of the Daily 10 on E! and he has also been the host of X Games and Winter X Games on ESPN.
