Anthony Calvillo is an American assistant head coach who currently coaches the Montreal Carabins football team in the U Sports. Calvillo is also a former player who has played in the CFL as a quarterback. Calvillo was born in Los Angeles, California, and he played both basketball and football in high school. He went on to play as a football player at Mr. San Antonio College before transferring to Utah State University where he helped them to win the Big West Conference. From there, Calvillo went on to play for the Las Vegas Posse of the Canadian Football League. He then went on to play for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats before joining the Montreal Alouettes. During his professional career, Calvillo was a three-time Grey Cup champion, was a Grey Cup MVP, was a five-time CFL All-Star, and a four-time CFL East All-Star. Calvillo was a CFL passing touchdowns leader, a CFL passing yards leader, was named Most Outstanding Player three times, and won the Terry Evanshen Trophy twice. Since retiring as a player, Calvillo went on to be the receivers coach, offensive coordinator, and then the quarterbacks coach for the Montreal Alouettes.
