Charles “Chuck” Ramsey is the former Commissioner of the Philadelphia Police Department. Ramsey was born in Chicago, Illinois, and he began his career as a cadet for the Chicago Police Department. He served as a patrol officer for a few years before being promoted to sergeant. Over the course of his career, Ramsey climbed the ranks to lieutenant, captain, commander of the narcotics division, deputy chief of patrol division, deputy superintendent at the Chicago Police Department, and Chief of Police at the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia, before working as the Police Commissioner. He has since gone on to retire and has gone on to be a contributor for CNN.
