Thompson Egbo Egbo is a Canadian pianist and jazz performer who is based out of Toronto, Ontario. Thompson began his career learning how to play piano at the Dixon Hall Music School. Thompson was born in Nigeria and moved to Canada when he was four years old and by the time he was six, he began learning how to play the piano. He began to develop the skill to play piano quickly, and this love of playing has helped him realize how important it is to give back, and he has since gone on to found the Thompson T. Egbo-Egbo Arts Foundation to help children experience the benefits of music. Thompson has studied jazz performance at Humber College in Toronto and has also studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied electronic production and sound design. Thompson then went on to compose music for the Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre. As a performer, Thompson has performed for huge names such as Quincy Jones, H.R.H Prince Charles, Prince Edward, and Prince Phillip. Thompson has released three albums over the years; “A New Standard,” “Short Stories,” and “The Offering.” Some of his most popular songs include “My Favourite Things,” “Sing to the Moon,” “Whisper Not,” “Be Courageous,” and “It’s Not That Serious.”.
