Michael Schwartz, better known as his stage name, Mix Master Mike, is an American turntablist who is best known for his work with the Beastie Boys over the years. Mike was born in San Francisco, California, and he rose to fame after winning the New Music Seminar/Supermen Inc. DJ Battle for World Supremacy in New York City. He then also won the DMC World DJ Championships as a member of Rock Steady DJs. He also went on to be a founding member of the group Invisibl Skratch Piklz. Shortly after, Mike stopped working in competitive turntablism and then began working as a judge for the DMC Championships and helped DJs to produce music. From there, Mike began working with the Beastie Boys and has worked with them on three albums which include “Hello Nasty,” “To The 5 Boroughs,” and “Hot Sauce Committee Part Two.” As a solo artist, Mike has released nine albums over the years as well as several singles.
