Pollard was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and he began his career playing football in high school where he was selected as The News-Sentinel Area Player of the Year and was a first team All-State honoree. During his time playing with the Ravens, Pollard helped them to win the Super Bowl championship. During his freshman season, Pollard was selected to the PFWA NFL All-Rookie Team.
