David Shaw is an American football coach and former football wide receiver. Shaw was born in San Diego, California, and his father, Willie Shaw, was an NFL coach. Shaw himself went on to begin his career playing high school football before going on to play college football at Stanford University where he also earned his B.A. in sociology. Upon graduating from Stanford, Shaw went on to begin his career in coach first working as a coach for Western Washington for two years. Shaw then went on to work as a coach for the NFL first working with the Philadelphia Eagles and then going on to work with the Oakland Raiders as a quarterbacks coach. Shaw also worked with the Baltimore Ravens as a quarterbacks and wide receivers coach before leaving the NFL as a coach. He then went back to working as a coach for universities as he joined the University of San Diego. After a year with San Diego, Shaw went on to join Stanford as an offensive coordinator coach, wide receiver and then running backs coach before working as the head coach. During his time with Stanford, Shaw has helped them to win 3 Pac-12 Championships and 5 Pac-12 North Division Championships.
