Coy Wire is an American television anchor and correspondent and a former professional football linebacker/safety who played in the NFL. Wire was born in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, and he began his career playing high school football where he set numerous records at the school. Wire went on to play college football at Stanford University where he was a first-team All-Pac-10, an honorable mention All-Pac-10, and was the first played in modern school history to lead the team in rushing one year and then tackles in another year. After graduating, Wire went on to be selected in the third round of the NFL draft by the Buffalo Bills and while playing with them, he was named Buffalo’s Special Teams Player of the Year twice, was voted team captain, and was selected by his teammates as the Bills’ Walter Payton Man of the Year. After playing with the Bills for five years, Wire went on to play for the Atlanta Falcons for two years. Wire then retired from the NFL and since then, he has been a full-time anchor and correspondent for CNN Sports. He has also previously been a writer, studio analyst and game analyst for Fox Sports. He has also been author of the inspirational book “Change Your Mind.”.
