Condredge Holloway is a former American quarterback who played in the CFL. Holloway was born in Huntsville, Alabama, and he began his career playing baseball as a shortstop in high school where he was drafted by the Montreal Expos. Holloway’s mother talked him into first earning his college degree and from there, he began playing college football as a quarterback at University of Tennessee, making him the first African-American to start at the quarterback position in a Southeastern Conference school. He also played baseball at the University of Tennessee, which also made him the first black baseball player in the history of Tennessee baseball. Holloway went on earn All-SEC and All-American honors as a shortstop and was selected to the All-Century Baseball Team. After graduating, Holloway was drafted in the NFL, but went on to play in the CFL for the Ottawa Rough Riders. During his time playing in the CFL, Holloway also played for the Toronto Argonauts and BC Lions. He was a CFL All-Star and a three-time CFL East All-Star, earned Most Outstanding Player, the Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy, and was a two-time Grey Cup champion.
