Jessica Mendoza is an American sports broadcaster who is currently with ESPN, and is a former medal winning Olympian who played women’s softball for the United States. Mendoza was born in Camarillo, California, and she began her career playing softball in high school where she was named the Los Angeles Times “Player of the Year,” and was named Camarillo High School’s “Female Athlete of the Year” two years in a row. Mendoza went on to play college softball at Stanford University where she was a first team All-American and All-Pac-10 honoree. Over the course of her college career she was also named NFCA Player of the Week, Player of the Year, helped lead the school to it’s first ever Women’s College World Series appearance, and more. She also earned her Master’s in Social Sciences and Education. She finished her college career holding the career records in average, hits, home runs, slugging and runs.
