Bill Lee, also known as “Spaceman,” is an American former professional baseball player who played as a left-handed pitcher in the MLB. Lee was born in Burbank, California, and he began his career playing baseball in high school before going on to play college in baseball for the University of Southern California where he helped the university to win the College World Series. From there, he went on to be drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the MLB draft. He began his career playing as a relief pitcher before going on to be the started pitcher. He was named to the American League All-Star team and started in two games in the World Series against the Cincinnati Reds. After spending almost 10 years playing for the Red Sox, Lee went on to finish his professional career playing with the Montreal Expos. Since retiring from the MLB, Lee has been inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame.
