Joey Jones is an American football coach and former professional football wide receiver. Jones was born in Mobile, Alabama, and he began his career playing football in high school before going on to play college football at the University of Alabama where he earned 71 receptions, 1,386 yards and 15 touchdowns. He was also an All-SEC and played in the Senior Bowl. After earning his degree, Jones went on to begin playing football for the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League and then also played with the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL. After finishing his playing career, Jones went on to begin coaching first working as an assistant coach for Briarwood Christian School. He then went on to work as a head coach at Dora High School before working as a head coach at Mountain Brook High School for almost 10 years. After leaving Mountain Brook, Jones began working as a head coach for colleges which included Birmingham-Southern, South Alabama, and was a special teams coach for Mississippi State.
