Mark Dantonio is an American football coach and former football defensive back. Dantonio was born in El Paso, Texas, and he began his career playing football in high school before going on to play college football at the University of South Carolina. Dantonio went on to earned his bachelor’s degree in education from South Carolina and later earned his master’s degree from Ohio University. Dantonio then went on to begin his career as a coach first working as a graduate assistant for Ohio University and then working as a graduate assistant at Purdue and Ohio State. Dantonio also previously worked as a defensive coordinator for Butler Community College. Since then, Dantonio has worked with schools which include University of Akron, Youngstown State, University of Kansas, Michigan State, and University of Cincinnati. He has been a defensive backs coach, defensive coordinator, and head coach. During his time working as a head coach for Michigan State, Dantonio helped them to win three Big Ten championship, two Big Ten Legends Divisions, and one Big Ten East Division.
