Leslie Edward Claypool, better known as his stage name, Les Claypool, is an American musician, singer-songwriter, producer, author, director, and actor who is best known for being the only ongoing member of the band Primus. Claypool performs a mixture of music which is metal, alternative, progressive rock, and experimental rock. He was born in Richmond, California, and began learning how to play the bass guitar at 14 years old. He later started Primus in the mid 1980’s alongside Todd Huth, Jay Lane, and other various musicians. Through his work with Primus, Claypool has released nine studio albums with them over the years with two of them; “Sailing the Seas of Cheese,” and “Pork Soda,” earning US certified Platinum.
