Fred Hochberg is an American businessman and civic leader who has previously served as the Chairman and President of the Export-Import Bank and Deputy Administrator of the Small Business Administration. Hochberg was born in Mount Vernon, New York, and he has earned his B.A. from New York University and his MBA from Columbia University. Hochberg went on to begin his career in business working for his mother’s company, Lillian Vernon Corporation. While working for his mother’s company, Hochberg worked his way up to be the President and COO of the company where he helped lead the company to an international, publicly traded direct marketing corporation. After working for Lillian Vernon Corporation for several years, Hochberg left to invest his time in advocacy and investing. Hochberg went on to work with the Small Business Administration where he also served on Bill Clinton’s Management Council. From there, Hochberg went on to be Dean of the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy. More recently, Hochberg has been a fellow at the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago as well as at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University. He has also recently published his first book, ‘Trade is Not a Four Letter Word.’.
