Fabio Mastrangelo is the Principal Conductor of the Sinfonica ARTica Orchestra of the Republic of Sakha Philharmonic and the Artistic Director of the Camerata Soloists Chamber Orchestra at the Novosibirsk State Philharmonic. Mastrangelo was born in Bari, Italy, and he began his musical career first learning how to play the piano at only five years old. He went on to graduate from the Conservatorio di Musica Niccolo Piccinni of Bari and also studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Conservatoire de musique de Geneve under Maria Tipo. He has also taken classes from Aldo Ciccolini, Seymour Lipkin and Paul Badura-Skoda. While studying, Mastrangelo also began performing in competitions and won first prize in Osimo and Rome. He has previously made his debut at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul, has collaborated with the Novaya Opera, and has been Artistic Director for the Etoiles du Chateu de Chailly as well as for the Opera for All and the Tremolo Music Festival. Mastrangelo has also been founder and music director of Virtuosi di Toronto.
