Sedlacek has studied at the Charles University in Prague and while there, he began his career in economics working as an advisor to President Vaclav Havel. He then went on to also work for the Czech President before going on to work as an advisor for the former Minister of Finance Bohuslav Sobotka. He then took a scholarship to Yale University and while there, was named one of the “Young Guns: 5 Hot Minds in Economics” by the Yale Economic Review. After finishing his scholarship, Sedlacek returned to Czechoslovakia where he began working as the Chief Macroeconomic Strategist for CSOB. Apart from his career with CSOB, Sedlacek has been a columnist and media commentator and lecturer for Charles University.
