Turning toward politics, Nussle began his political career running as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Iowa, which he won. During his time in the House of Representatives, Nussle also served as Chair of the House Budget Committee. He then went on to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget. Since leaving politics, Nussle has gone on to found a media and consulting firm, The Nussle Group. He has also been President and COO of Growth Energy and has been President and Chief Executive Officer of the Credit Union National Association..
