Antonio Damasio is a Portuguese-American neuroscientist who is the David Dornsife Chair in Neuroscience and the Professor of Psychology, Philosophy, and Neurology at the University of Southern California as well as an adjunct professor at Salk Institute. Damasio was born in Lisbon, Portugal, and he began studying medicine at the University of Lisbon Medical School where he went on to earn his doctorate.
