Fons Trompenaars is a Dutch theorist, management consultant, and author, who is known for his work in cross-cultural communication and for developing the Trompenaars’ model of national culture differences. Trompenaars has previously earned his MA in Economics from Vrije Universiteit and has earned his Ph.d. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he wrote his thesis on ‘The Organization of Meaning and the Meaning of Organization.’ Trompenaars went on to begin his career working at the Royal Dutch Shell Personnel Division where he worked on management development as well as job classification.
