Katherine Heigl is an American actress and former model who rose to fame through her career as a model before turning to acting later in life. Heigl was born in Washington, D.C. and she moved around at a young age before settling in New Canaan, Connecticut. She began working as a model at nine and was featured in magazines before making her television debut in a Cheerios commercial.
