Bear Hands is an American post-punk indie-rock band from Brooklyn, New York, that currently consists of members Dylan Rau, Val Loper and TJ Orscher. The band was formed after Rau met former member Ted Feldman while the duo were studying at Wesleyan University. After forming together, they were later joined by members Loper and Orscher as the duo were previously involved in bands which included In Pieces and Sidekick 7. After the four began performing together, they released their debut EP, “Golden,” which led them to be named a “New York buzz band.” The band didn’t release music for a few more years and then released their debut single, “What a Drag/Can’t Stick,” which was featured on their debut studio album, “Burning Bush Supper Club.” Their debut studio album also featured singles “Crime Pays,” “High Society,” and “Tablasaurus.” A few years after that, Bear Hands released their second studio album, “Distraction,” which peaked at number 23 on the US Heatseekers chart. Their second album featured singles which included “Giants,” “Peacekeeper,” and “Agora.” They then gained even more attention after the release of their third studio album, “You’ll Pay For This,” which peaked at number 5 on the US Heatseekers chart and at number 41 on the US Indie charts. Most recently, Bear Hands has released their fourth album, “Fake Tunes.”.
