Art vs. Science is an Australian electronic dance band which is based out of Sydney, Australia, and consists of members Jim Finn, Dan McNamee and Dan Williams. The trio were formed after McNamee attended a Daft Punk concert and enlisted his two other friends to form a band to play electronic music. The trio had previously played in a rock-punk band and after forming Art vs. Science they were immediately booking shows before even releasing music. The band then performed at various festivals which included Falls Festival, Parklife Festival, Good Vibrations, and they also toured with The Galvatrons. Art vs. Science then released their debut single, “Flippers,” which was featured at number 44 on the Triple J Hottest 100 list. The following year, Art vs. Science released singles which included “Parlez Vous Francais,” and “Friend in the Field,” before releasing their debut EP, “Art vs. Science,” which peaked at number 32 in the Australian charts and earned ARIA certified gold. They then followed that up with their second EP, “Magic Fountain” which peaked at number 14 on the Australian charts and earned ARIA certified gold.
