Douglas Jack Agu, better known as his stage name Runtown, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and producer who performs a mixture of music which includes RnB, afro-fusion, hip-hop, and reggae. Runtown was born in Enugu State, Nigeria, and he grew up in Abuja and Lagos. Runtown began his musical career with the release of his debut single “Gallardo,” which features vocals from popular musician Davido. Gallardo went on to be featured on Runtown’s debut studio album, “Ghetto University,” and that same year he was nominated for Best Collaboration of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. His debut studio album went on to gain local popularity and earned him a spot on MTN Music Plus’ list of Top 5 Most Streamed Artists. Runtown has gone on to release numerous singles over the years which include “Mad Over You,” which has over 28 million streams on Spotify, “Energy” which has over 8 million streams, “For Life,” which has over 10 million streams, and “Body Riddim,” which has over 2 million streams.
