Kawala is an up-and-coming pop band from North London that consists of Jim Higson and Daniel McCarthy. The band found fame after the release of their debut indie-folk single, “Do It Like You Do.” The duo formed together while studying at a university in Leeds. They then moved to North London where they immersed themselves into the music scene and gained influence from local artists. They then went on to appear on Mahogany Sessions which earned them more local fame and they then added in members Dan Lee, Reeve Coulson, and Ben Batten. This led them to release their debut single, “Small Death,” which they followed up with Do It Like You. After they were gaining more and more popularity, Kawala began performed at festivals which included Live at Leeds and The Great Escape.
