Jerry Cantrell is an American musician and singer-songwriter who is known for being the founder, lead guitarist, co-lead vocalist and songwriter for the rock band Alice in Chains who rose to fame in the early 90’s. Cantrell was born in Tacoma, Washington, and found his love for music in high school when he began singing in his school’s choir. Cantrell also began playing guitar in middle school as well as the clarinet. By the time he was 17, Cantrell started to seriously pursue a career in music and focused on playing guitar. He then studied writing for a short time in college before quitting and moving to Dallas, Texas, to pursue a musical career. Apart from his career with Alice in Chains, Cantrell has released three solo albums; “Boggy Depot,” “Degradation Trip,” and “Degradation Trip Volumes 1 and 2.” His most popular solo singles include “Leave Me Alone,” “Cut You In,” “Dickeye,” “My Song” and “Anger Rising.”.
