Robert Lee Gill Jr., better known as his stage name Reason, is an American rapper and songwriter from Carson, California. Reason began his musical career with the release of his debut mixtape, “In the Meantime.” The following year he released two more mixtapes, “The Free Album” and “The Proof.” Two years later, Reason made his breakthrough being featured on the Marvel Studio superhero film soundtrack “Black Panther,” on the single “Seasons.” That led him to sign with Top Dawg Entertainment and that same day he released his debut single, “The Soul.” He followed that up with “Better Dayz,” and “Summer Up,” both of which were featured in his fourth mixtape “There You Have It.” Reason then went on to be featured on JAG’s album with Cozz for the song “Black Boy Rise,” and he then toured with Jay Rock on his Big Redemption Tour before re-releasing his mixtape There You Have It. Since then, Reason has released his debut studio album, “New Beginnings.” Some of his singles featured off the album include “Pop Shit” featuring Schoolboy Q and “Sauce” featuring Vince Stapes.
