Paul Simonon is an English musician, bass guitarist, visual artist, vocalist and songwriter who is best known for his work with The Clash. He has also been part of the supergroup The Good, the Bad and the Queen, and has recorded for the Gorillaz album, “Plastic Beach.” Simonon was born in Thornton Heath, Croydon, England, and he originally wanted to pursue an art career and studied at Byam Shaw School of Art. After meeting Mick Jones, Simonon formed The Clash alongside Joe Strummer. He began to learn the bass from Jones and over the years with the Clash, he recorded the bass on almost every song. During his time with the Clash, the band released six studio albums and two EPs.
