Newton Faulkner is an English singer-songwriter and musician from Reigate, Surrey, England, who is known for having a percussive style of guitar playing. Faulkner began playing the guitar when he was only 13 years old and went on to study at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts before studying at the Academy of Contemporary Music. He first began performing music in a Green Day cover band and through that band, formed his first band, Half A Guy, with Matt Buchanan, Dave Elvy and Nicole Crawshaw. After Half A Guy disbanded a few years later, Faulkner began to pursue a solo career. After breaking off into a solo career, Faulkner released his debut EP, “Full Fat.” The following year, he released his debut studio album, “Hand Built by Robots,” which peaked at number 1 on the UK charts and earned BPI two-time certified platinum and ARIA certified platinum. That same year he released his first two singles that were featured on the album, “I Need Something” and “Dream Catch Me.” Faulkner’s second album, “Rebuilt by Humans,” was also a hit and earned BPI certified gold and ARIA certified gold. Since then, he has released four more studio albums over the years as well as two Eps. Some of Faulkner’s other popular singles include “All I Got,” “Teardrop,” “Gone in the Morning,” “If This Is It,” “I Hate Mondays,” “Write It on Your Skin,” and “Clouds.” Apart from his career as a musician, Faulkner has also played Johnny in the musical production of ‘American Idiot.’.
