Marteen is an American singer-songwriter who performs a mixture of music that is RnB and pop. Marteen was born in Berkeley, California, and grew up in cities which included Alameda, El Cerrito, and Burbank. Marteen found his love of music and performance at a young age and began learning how to play the piano and guitar at only 12 years old through instructional videos posted on YouTube. When he was 12, Marteen also began posting covers of various pop songs through social media outlets which included Instagram. His videos began to catch that attention of various record labels and a year later, he was featured on Kehlani’s single “What It’s All About,” whom is his cousin. Within the next two years, Marteen began to tour with various artists and groups which included Bryson Tiller, Fifth Harmony and Kehlani. He then released his debut mixtape, “Focused,” which was self-released. About a year later, he signed with Warner Bros. Records and then released his debut single “Sriracha.” The following year Marteen released his debut EP, “NOTHANKYOU.” He has since opened for Dua Lipa and has performed at the Red Bull Sound Select Presents: 30 Days in Chicago.
