Jonsi is an Icelandic musician who is best known for being the vocalist and multi-instrumentalist for the post-rock band Sigur Ros. Jonsi performs with a cello bow on guitar and has a falsetto or countertenor voice. Jonsi was born in Iceland and began learning how to play guitar at 13 years old. He then went on to be the leader of the band Bee Spiders before going on to begin his work with Sigur Ros. Since the formation of Sigur Ros, Jonsi has released seven studio albums with the band. Jonsi is also known for collaborating with Alex Somers under the name Jonsi and Alex and the duo have released the album “Riceboy Sleeps.” As a solo artist, Jonsi has released two studio albums which include “Go,” which peaked in the charts of countries which include Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States. Ten years after the release of his hit debut studio album, Jonsi released his second solo album, “Shiver,” which peaked at number 88 on the Switzerland charts. He has also released two EPs.
