Lawrence Gowan, also known as just Gowan, is a Scottish-Canadian musician and songwriter who is best known for being the lead vocalist and keyboardist of the band Styx. Gowan was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and he began his musical career studying classical piano at The Royal Conservatory of Music. After graduating, he went on to perform in the band Rhinegold and after the band broke up, he began performing as a solo artist under the name Gowan.
