Glenn Danzig is an American singer-songwriter, musician, film director and record producer who is best known for being founder of the bands the Misfits, Samhain and Danzig. He is also known for being the owner of the Evilive record label and for the comic book publishing company, Verotik. Danzig was born in Lodi, New Jersey, and has previously studied at Tisch School of the Arts and the New York Institute of Photography. Danzig originally aspired to be a comic book creator which is what led him to found Verotik. As a child, Danzig took piano and clarinet lessons and taught himself how to play the guitar. He started his career in the music industry first as a drum roadie and then he began playing in local bands. He first started the Misfits before later starting Samhain, and then Danzig. Through his work with the Misfits, Danzig released three EPs and four albums. Through his work with Samhain, the band released one EP and three studio albums. With Danzig, the band released 12 studio albums and two EPs.
