Isabel Suppe is a survivor, adventurer, writer, cyclist, and climber. While growing up, Suppe found her love of mountains and climbing. She was born and raised in Germany and had later won a scholarship to the United States before moving to Buenos Aires to finish her postgraduate studies. While in Buenos Aires, Suppe began climbing the Andes and became a full-time climber and writer who climbed mountains in Mendoza, Peru, and Bolivia. While in Bolivia, Suppe and her partner suffered a terrible fall which led to her partners death, and left Suppe with a broken ankle that had exposed bones in a climate with low oxygen. Suppe was left alone for two days and dragged herself throughout ice until she finally found help. Once Suppe finally made it to a doctor, she thought she was going to have her foot amputated but after several surgeries and a year of recovery, Suppe was able to watch with special crutches. Only a few months after her last operation, Suppe went on to climb Volcano Dos Conos, and then went on to ascend Mount Cachi. She has also cycled all over the United States, Germany, and into the Alps and Sahara desert. She has also published two books; ‘Starry Night’ and ‘Travels with Rocinante.’.
