Eric Martin is an American rock singer-songwriter and musician who is known for both his work as a solo artist and as a member for various bands. One of his most known singles is “To Be with You,” which is a song he wrote and performed with the hard rock band Mr. Big. Martin found his love for music at a young age as his father was a drummer and he shortly after took up drumming as well but found he liked being the lead vocalist instead after a few years. Later in life, Martin went on to make his breakthrough playing in the group 415. The band would often sell out all their live shows before going on to open for various artists and bands which included Hall and Oates, Rick Springfield, Foreigner, and many more. Eventually, 415 changed their name to the Eric Martin Band and they then released their debut album, “Sucker for a Pretty Face,” which led them to open for bands which included Journey, Night Ranger, and ZZ Top. Eventually, the Eric Martin Band disbanded and shortly after, Martin released a solo self-titled album which featured the single “The Information.” A few years later he released the album “I’m Only Fooling Myself.” A year after that, Martin formed Mr. Big.
