The trio are from Watford, Hertfordshire, and they began their career performing together at open-mic nights at a local pub, The Horns. They went on to begin gaining even more popularity after they appeared on Tom Jones’ album “Praise and Blame.” They then went on to tour with Mt. Desolation before going on to release EPs which include “Live at Cecil Sharp House” and “Mexico.” They also released their debut single, “Mexico.” The following year, The Staves released their debut studio album, “Dead and Born and Grown,” which peaked at number 42 on the UK charts. That same year they also released the EP “The Motherlode” and toured with The Civil Wars and Bon Iver and also went on to perform at South by Southwest. The Staves followed up their debut album with their second album, “If I Was,” which peaked at number 14 on the UK charts. Since then, they have gone on to release their third album, “The Way is Read,” with yMusic, and most recently, “Good Woman.” Currently, The Staves have over 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
